Self rimming wood vents also referred to as drop-in or surface mounted wooden vents, are vents that sit on top of the surface of any installed flooring. It simply drops into the whole opening cut in the existing floor and is a preferred style for most flooring surfaces. It can be used with new or existing hardwood flooring, laminate, carpet, tile, or vinyl, with the rim of the vent neatly concealing the cut edge of the finished flooring. It rims the floor much like a plastic or metal vent would and adds the perfectly finished touch to any floor covering.
